    Re: outside cage?

    Do you mean living outdoors?
I'm unsure on what you may be looking for.
I've never been fond of outdoor enclosures for varanids just because they are very strong and can escape easily.
Are you looking to keep your Argus outside temporarily while you are outside on a deck or patio?

You don't have a location, so dunno what the weather/temps are like for you outside.
If you can build a sturdy cage, that is secure against a large powerful determined lizard, then outside pens are great for lizards. It must be secure. But natural sunlight and loads of space are good for them.

    Re: outside cage?

Ive seen a few people with outdoor enclosures. Most of them live in florida though so the temps are pretty high and they dont really have to worry about cold spots but I know a few that have them in colder climates but they insulate the crap out of the enclosures and run hot water pipes under the dirt and then add all the lights and heating and everything after that.

You can have a outside enclosure with a "hot box" for cold weather. It's in essance a little house that's heated, that you can lock the animal into for cold weather spells.
