    Hiding while shedding?

I'm just curious because i've seen alot of people say their snake stays hidden through the shedding process, and im wondering who else's snake does that? Reason I ask is because my Anaconda doesn't hide while she sheds, she comes out at her normal times like usual, or maybe stays out a bit more while shes in her shedding stage.

Nope. So far, he gets into his water dish, which is in the front of the viv and out in the open.

    Re: Hiding while shedding?

Mine stay hidden. Well, three of the four do. The youngin is always on the move. I can always tell when they are going to go into shed in a week, and like clockwork they disappear into their hides and stay there. When I see one of their heads peeking out, I know someone is lookin pretty!

    Re: Hiding while shedding?

I was looking at my anaconda a bit ago, I think she actually stays out of her hides the whole time shes in shed, she's in the water bowl or under the heat lamp.

    Re: Hiding while shedding?

Mine is in shed now. I know she's moved from hot to coo to hot, but I haven't seen her move. Of course, she was just fed a couple days ago. So, it could be the food, or the shed.

I have Ball Pythons. They hide all the time regardless of shed.

    Re: Hiding while shedding?

Out of all of my ball pythons, only one of them comes out during the shedding of his skin. This is how I usually know before actually seeing them that they are in shed....they will stay in the hides a lot more than they usually do and mainly just shred right there in the hides altogether.

    Re: Hiding while shedding?

Yea, I was just curious, seems like most snakes do, waiting to see if my new snake will or not, though I really dont see him much.
