Last Night's Surprise: First Clutch of '09!

Since NF1 was only 23 days POS yesterday (4/3/09), I wasn't exactly expecting to find her wrapped around a clutch of eggs. I'm so glad I had my incubator up and running and already had an egg tub set up!

I peaked in her tub late last night to find this:

    After moving her head:

After removing her (two fertile eggs and two slugs). This year is the first year that she's produced eggs (she's an '04 girl) and I've been trying since 2006, so I'm content with two fertile eggs:

NF1 before having the eggs scent washed off. Poor girl is down to 1094g:

The eggs after the attached slug was removed with dental floss:

The two fertile eggs in HatchRite (I decided to try it this year):

In the incubator (Nature's Spirit Incubator):

One clutch down, hopefully many more to come!

This clutch was most likely sire by my '06 Graziani Pastel male, but there's a chance that it was sired by my '04 Super Pastel Orange Ghost male. Regardless, the hatchlings will be labled as either Pastels or Normals.

She's a nice animal for sure.

You may only have had 2 Fertile Eggs, but they look fantastic. Good luck!
