I have a calico and they are usually priced by the amount of white like a pied. Also like a pied the white is totally random on the offspring and low whites can make high whites and visa versa.
Always be skeptical with way low prices, be thorough with your research. Ther are two main lines here in the U.S., the flora and fauna line and the snake keepers line. See if your seller mentions one of these when you ask what line.
Calicos usually are ringers and have a very light golden band around the pattern. This pic is of The Snake Keeper line.
