I bet you your female was a rex. Females don't hold their curl very well, and some will look straight, the only key being their whiskers are still curled a little.

Well I thought that too, I mean it makes sense. But no I've got a bunch of double-rexes in my freezer to prove that rat genes are unpredictable.

And my females were very standard, they came from Petco.
No, rat gene's work exactly as they are predicted to if you know what genes you are working with.

Got a picture of your double rex and the supposed parents? My only other guess would be that you have some poor fuzzies or other recessive genes at work in both parents.
