    yesss i highly recommend the digital zoo meds with the probes. i find they are the most accurate for measuring my heat pad temps because the probes just sit directly on whatever you want them to monitor. They're very precise, not like the stick-ons that just catch the ambient temps (which of course you will want one of those too to put somewhere in the middle of your tank/tub). the zoo-med digi ones with probes and suctions are $10-11 at petco and petsmart.

    You're gonna want to go with a digital thermometer.

    Wal-Mart, Lowe's, Home Depot, Target, etc. sell a brand called Acu-Rite. These thermometers have the unit that measures the "indoor", or ambient temperature, and the humidity. It's also equipped with a probe, which measures the "outdoor" temp, which in your case will be the hot side of the cage.

    I also use a Fluker's thermo/hygrometer, which is good too!
