I just wanted to take a minute to post an update after a week has gone by. I removed his bandaid on Sunday, and placed him on some paper towels. I think I am going to leave him on the paper towels for at least a month to watch his healing process. After looking at him yesterday, I have decided to remove him from the breeding program for the remainder of the year for his safety. I have a female that has ovulated from him, and has 9 eggs. So, we may get a replacement for him, but just in case, I may need him next year. His hemipene looks pretty good, but doesn't look like it is fully inverted. I am really anticipating the next bowel movement, as I believe that pressure on the vent will give us some better understanding of what will happen next. I will post some more updates in the future if anything changes.

p.s. I have not got up the courage yet to try and pop him and evert the pene, as I am not sure if it comes out, if it will go back in. Maybe after he has had several months to heal, we'll give it a try.

Here is a pictureof him on Sunday evening.
