Again, thank you all very much.
Congratulations on the birth of a healthy boy!

My first child was an unplaned C-section so be kind to her right now. It's not a nice way to enter into motherhood the first time around.

Just try to remember that pregnancy is always stressful on us women, being young and not planning for having the baby just makes it that much tougher on the mom and on you trying to deal with her emotions and fears and your own as well. The next few weeks will also be rough as she adjusts to caring for a fully dependent infant and you adjust to fatherhood and whatever role the two of you decide you will have in her and the baby's daily life.

Even in the best of situations dads often end up just having to bite their tongues around new moms. Ask my husband LOL. Even though our last was my 4th and I certainly knew what to expect, being sleep deprived with your post-pregnancy floppy belly and your sore boobs (and her had to have a abdominal birth) - well it can make any female really, really, REALLY oversensitive. Learn to grit your teeth and look supportive!

In the end, whatever you and she work out as your relationship, you've both been given the blessing of this wonderous new life to love and raise. You'll never be the same man, but you'll be better because you're a dad now.
