    Re: Help with cage

You should take back the lamps if you can. you should really go for the Under Tank Heater (UTH) along with a thermostat of some sort. A ten gallon tank would probably only need one UTH.

    1. Use a thermostat or rheostat to keep it at your desired temperature
    2. Yes, I don't see why not. some people use just paper towels and some use newspaper, while some use aspen bedding. It depends on what you're keeping I guess though. I'm assuming you have a Ball Python
    3. I don't know what you mean by heat tape, the only heat tape I've heard of is flexwatt heat tape.
    4. The lamps should be more than enough to keep it warm. I think you might be able to cook it with the amount of heat you could generate in a 10 gallon terrarium with multiple lamps.
    5. I don't know about any websites in particular. beanfarm.com could get you flexwatt as a substitute to the lamps as a heating mechanism, which can be a pain in the butt to get to work right... You can get a rheostat at walmart or some home improvement store for less than $15 and you can get an accurite indoor/outdoor thermometer with a hydrometer to measure humidity for like $10 at those same places.

Heat lamps might end up sucking the humidity out of the cage. If you can get it to work right, then go for it, I have ran into problems with them before. You also don't really want to have lights on the snake all day and night. That would have to get annoying for you and the snake.

    Hi,

I'm not sure what you mean - the two replies to your post told you how to control the heat sources.

You need to connect it through a thermostat or a rheostat.
