Blue Eyed Lucy BP
Hi guys, This will be my first ball python. Im starting 2 save money. The average Blue Eyed Lucy hatchling cost about 3000$? Im not sure if this is a good first ball python. I basicly fell in love with the "whiteness" but im kinda moneyless It wont be till the end of summer till i get my summer job were i can afford the snake. And Basicly i've looked around so far its 3000$ not sure if tax needed, but i need CITIES?(100$) and an Wild life inspection (165$) then shipping...
If you have any info on how i can get a good deal from a reliable breader please post.

Re: Blue Eyed Lucy BP
Snow is a dbl recessive morph combining a albino with a axanthic not sure of prices on them a BEL can be made several different ways with the Lesser to Lesser seeming to be the most wanted

Re: Blue Eyed Lucy BP
Well, I clicked on that link and it said the ad was expired. But I'm pretty sure I've seen BELs for around $2000, but I don't remember for sure if they were lesser BELs or what.
Snows cost more because they are a double recessive and a lot more time and work goes in to producing them. A year or 2 ago I was seeing snows priced at $10k. I know they've come down from that, but I'm not very certain on the current pricing on them.
You say you need CITES... where are you located? If you live in Canada for example, you can avoid the CITES by purchasing from a Canadian breeder.
As far as whether or not this is a good first BP... that really is up to you. A lot of people would rather buy a less expensive one to start out with to see if they really end up enjoying owning a snake before they spend a ton of money. Others know what they want and are willing to spend the $$ to get it. Especially if you think you are likely to want only one as a pet, it makes sense to get the one you want to start out with.
No matter what you decide, make sure that you have researched the proper care before you make your purchase.

Re: Blue Eyed Lucy BP
There are many forms of BELs. The mojave x mojave BEL is the least white of them all, and cost less because of that. I think they sell for around $1500 and up. You could also look into an ivory, which is another white snake. It also sells for around $1500 and up. If you really want a white snake, then start saving your money. They will drop in price as time goes on, so you will be able to get one for a little less in the future.

Re: Blue Eyed Lucy BP
KC, you are right but I did a quick search for "blue eyed", and it was maybe the 4th one down. It is an ad by Brandon Boeke or Priceless Pythons titled "HUGE SALE! 08's- ALL SORTS OF MORPHS!" The animal is a Mojave x Butter cross male for $1800.
Searched him on Fauna and people only have good things to say about him and the pictures posted are great looking animals.

Don't start a new thread when you already have one open on the same subject, especially when you cut and pasted from your first thread.
