Couple of questions
Hey there, my first post here. I have a couple of questions regarding my BP. First off, my BP has refused rats twice now and I wanted to know if that will prevent him from reaching size by only eating mice.
Second, I saw somewhere on this forum that the normal banded BPs can breed to produce spyders(don't know if thats true) and wondered if my snake is banded...I am not sure what makes a BP a banded but my snake does have the black bands on him almost all the way down to the tail so I thought that would make him one. If anyone needs a picture to help answer just ask and I will when hes done eating. Thanks.

Hi,
Bp's can grow and thrive perfectly well on mice - they just need more than one when they get larger is all. 
It's a no on the spider question though - the only way to breed spiders is to have one of the parents be a spider.
The pattern of the other partner however will possibly make a difference so maybe they meant they thought a banded snake made the kind of spiders they preffered?

A ball python can live perfectly fine on mice - I raised many of my girls to adulthood on mice before I started to breed rats.
What you may have seen on the forum is someone with a banded female, who planned to breed TO a spider to enhanced the look of the resulting spider babies (selectively breeding a nice looking female to a spider).
In order to make spiders, you have to have a spider.

Nice snake!!!
I love that shine. My favorite part of a freshly shed bp is the shine. The hognose are keeled, so after he sheds, he still doesn't shine, just brighter colors.
