First time fasting... what do i do?
My ball python has not eaten since January. It normally eats live rats, but it won't show any interest in any rats or mice I offer. It is about 3 years old, and has never gone off feed for more than a week.
I took it to the vet for an exam, and he said to increase temp. and humidity- but that did not help. My ball python is active as normal and still drinking water, so I don't think it can be a parasite problem. It also has not lost much weight at all.
Should I try force-feeding?

Don't force feed!
Check his weight every week and kep offering food. If he isn't loosing a ton weight, don't worry about it.
How much does he weigh now?

Dont totally freak out BP's are able to go months off feed. Mine personally didn't eat for 3 months for no apparent reason. Then one day she was back to her usual self. AKA a monster eater! Ya if you start her losing weight and see her spine easily then it might be time to get her some real medical attention.

If he's not losing weight don't worry. I've had them go up to a year without eating before and heard of up to 2 years from others...just keep offering food and he'll eat eventually.

My adult male ball just started eating again after 4 months off. Like the others said don't worry yet.

yes don't panic unle the snake looses it shape and started to look thin. some of the weight lost wil lbe cause they empty their gut .. I had one snake quite eating for 5 months and the first thinig it ate when i t started again was my hand( tried to ). I offer it food every week and if it didn't eat ijust gavie it to another snake it was easier to thaw out another ordent if needed thna waste them every week.
I got one that right now onle eattign every 3rd weekit seems, I think it due the the breeding season .

Re: First time fasting... what do i do?
I wasn't smart enough to get him to eat frozen- he has only taken 3 frozen in his lifetime!
my problem is that i feed him live, and I can't keep a rat in the house- (I tried, but somehow my cats knocked open the cage and it crawled into our dishwasher and died...)
Hopefully he'll gain his appetite back now that it's spring?

probably. you have to remember that snakes normally hibernate. we don't really allow them to do that in our controlled enviornments. if your snake still looks healthy and is acting normal, it's probably ok. like someone said before, just watch the weight. my ball stopped eating in early december, but she's still really big. most of the time they know what they're doing when they quit.

Well still no progress... he is not interested. Is there anything else I should try?
Like feeding at night or something else?? I just wish he would eat one rat!
