Since I've had 0 clutches so far, I'll mention one of my favorites from what other people have had....

Marcus Jayne hatching out the world's first axanthic pied... without having any idea they had the axanthic gene in their collection at all.

    Re: Beating the odds...

Last year from a mojave x normal I got 5 mojaves and one normal.

My best though was with cornsnakes and happened last year. I had a pair of lavenders 66% het stripe. Out of the clutch only two eggs went to term. Out of one of those eggs hatched a striped lavender and in the other was an opal (albino lavender). I didn't even know amel was floating around. So out of two eggs I proved two different hets. I think I calculated the odds of that happening to be around 1/500 with all the poss. hets playing out and the number of eggs that survived.

    Pewter/Bumble Bee x Pastel hatched 1.2 Bees 1.0 Super Pastel 1.1 Normals...

... and a Sterling and a Killer Bee -- both males. They are both giving a go at breeding as of a week ago -- nothing yet -- they are young.

    Re: Beating the odds...

I did a breeding loan with Tim Bailey and we ended up with 8 spiders and 3 normals out of 11 eggs.Of course it was a spider to a normal breeding

I bred a mojave to a normal and got 5 mojaves and 1 normal. Even better, 4 of the mojaves were female.
