To tell you the truth... We bought her because we really liked her, but I think we would have bought her anyway. Jan and I consider her a rescue case. I won't say who we got her from because we're not the bad-mouthing type. But I will tell you about her conditions.
Her water bowl had stains in it that could not be scrubbed out. Her enclosure had month-old feces in the bedding. They said it had not been cleaned because they ran out of aspen. We also got the enclosure in the deal. The first thing I wanted to do was clean it out and give her some fresh aspen. When I scooped out all the old aspen I found urine stained news paper on the bottom.

She also had no heat lap, and the UTH is too small for her body. I guess she had to warm herself in sections. They also said that sometimes she wouldn't eat for months. The people also fed her in her tank. Sometimes leaving live rats in there for days, and she has the scars to prove it. There are holes and chew marks on her hide from rats. They told us that she has not eaten in 3 weeks, so we offered her a medium rat and she acted afraid of it. We'll try again in a few days with a F/T.

It breaks our heart how some people can neglect such a peaceful animal.
