Does my BP only like the cool side?

my BP keeps moving her hide from the warm side to cool side. i dont know why she does this. i have a hide on both ends. does she do this by accident or does she just not like being hot?

What are your temperatures? Are they identical hides?

I have a few snurtle Ball Pythons. They move their hides with them.

It might be accidental, it might be because they think they are turtles, who knows!

If the hides aren't the same, she might like one better than the other. Ralph Davis said if you see your snakes on the cold side all the time your heat might be too high. If the hides are identical, then your guess is as good as mine.

How long have you had your snake? When I first got mine it just stayed in the cool hide all the time. Once he got used to his new home he started to move around more. Now he spends more of his time in the warm hide. When I inquired about the same thing I got pretty much the same advice as you. Make sure temps are proper and if the hides are different it could prefer one over the other.

Re: Does my BP only like the cool side?

i have had her for only a week now. my temps are good 80 cool side and around 90-94 (fluctuating) on the hot side, which i have the acurite probe directly on the plastic where the UTH is. i never let it get above 94.

at night it might get 77 on cool side and 88 on hot side.

thats whats up w/ my temps.

here is what i have goin on for hides. one is alittle smaller because i took 2 identical bowls and cut them alittle off. now i know they're suposed to be identical but my girl prefers the smaller hide. i had it in the cool side at first and she was always in that so i decided to put it on the warm side and the bigger one on the cool side. she still goes in the smaller one on the warm side, only every time she goes in she moves it over away from the UTH. ive taken her out a few times since and put the hide back ontop in the far right corner where the uth is and she moves it away every time.

here is a picture i just took

    there.

she is in the smaller hide in thsi pic.
