He finally ate! - Wealth of information

This is my first time posting on this forum; however, I think by now I've read half the threads.

My wife and I got two ball pythons in January - a female normal (Phantasia) and a male spider (8-Ball). Before we got them, there we're a lot of visits to this forum for information.

The girl settled in to a tank set-up no problem. She does normal ball python things - hiding and eating. He seemed pretty stressy in a tank set-up and wasn't eating. So back to the forum.

We moved him to a quieter, more stable tub. After a week - still stressy, not using hides, and still not eating. Back to the forum.

Changed the type of hides twice - he liked the flower pots - he settled down, but still wouldn't eat. Forum

Anyway, much to my relief, and after a lot of good information and some trial and error, HE ATE TONIGHT for the first time!!!

So a big THANKS to all the people on this forum who take the time to answer questions and share their knowledge. (couldn't help myself, I had to throw in a dancin' banana)

its ok the dancing banana is cool beans

and it pleases me to see that some one read before they got the snakes, and that your first post was thanking for the information rather then a panic of "ohhhhh crap what do i do now!" you are going to have some happy ball pythons on your hands in no time. getting them on a feeding schedule after they start feeding helps allot to keep them eating so get a good schedule/ritual going that the BP can identify as go time.

They can be worrisome with their occasional hunger strikes.
