Those with venomous animals need not worry they are only regulating poisonous snakes!!! <<<<< Nevermind some one told them...
I do think that proper regulation of Venomous and larger or "dangerous" animals should be registered. I know it will effect the ones who do what is right, but it will also reduce the number of people who don't do it right, Those who get bit and die or allow their animals to injure some one else.
I know that registration is just one step closer to gov. regulation on banning. I personally don't want t have to register firearms but if that is what it takes to keep my guns then I would gladly do that rather then have a ban...
I am very against any regulation on my personal rights. Rather then banning and sending all this underground maybe regulation will help people become more educated about these reptiles and help the community.
Local law enforcement may charge an annual registration fee not to exceed fifty dollars ($50.00) per housing location of reptiles named in this Article.
^^^ This means per house / shop not per animal correct?
...destroying such reptiles, authorizing the North Carolina Museum of Natural
Sciences or its designated representative to determine final disposition of the reptile....
I like the way they realized this would not look as nice as as saying the state will decide to kill them on a case by case basis.
(b) If a person other than the owner of a venomous reptile, large constricting snake, or crocodilian, or other than
the owners' agent or agents, suffers a life threatening injury or is killed as the result of a violation of this Article, the
owner shall be guilty of a Class I felony.
Does this include people that may be vandalizing the property or are there to steal the animals?
I agree with you fully Mike. I actually have not heard anything about sb-307 until I accidently stumbled across it this morning. And I agree that there should be some type of regulation, It just kind of suprised me to see a bill happening here. I just hope all of this stuff doesnt get out of hand down the road. I am also a firm beleiver in our right to bare arms, and feel the same way as you about the permit deal.
