    Not sure why people are upset... it is cultural (and geographical). They live in an area with myriad species of snakes. So handling them does not really seem that big a deal to me.

    Will they get bit... yeah, most likely. But I assume that since the parents are gathering them up and bringing them home any biting snakes would not make it that far.

    I had dogs and cats as a kid and have the scars to prove it.

    These two kids may grow up and be two of the most profound lobbyists/experts on the snakes of India.
