I was wondering is it bad to not use thermostats on each tank? Seems like alot of people have one for every tank so they make it sound. I dont use a thermostat on any of my tanks. My snake room has always been around 78-80 when I check the temp. My cages all stay around 80-82 on the cool end and 87-90 on the warm end. Only time it differs is at night when I switch the lights is when it drops down to 80 on one end and 87 on the other end. I use a UTH on the cool and a light on the warm end. I have never had any problems with with any of the snakes. I plan on buying a rack system before winter to switch them all to for breeding and room purpose and will have a thermostat on each rack. The snakes are check on regular by me atleast 5-10 times a day or by my girlfriend.
Another question I have is I see alot of people are against housing more then one snake together. I understand if one is sick it can spread to the others but what if they have all been check and in QT and come out fine. We had 3 Ball Pythons together in a cage at my school and nothing bad ever happened with them. Right now I have 3 together in a 40 galloon breeder and have no problems. They are still smaller guys 2 are a year and a half old the other a half a year old. I dont plan on keeping them like this forever thats why I want to switch to a rack system. I was just curious since so many places that sell snakes have more then 1 in a tank and ZOO's house snakes together also.
Last question is I have 1 ball python that just wont shed easy. Hes in the tank with the 3 and the other 2 shed fine humidity is around 60%. He just seems to be a stubborn shedder. He has been like that ever since I got him.
