Straaaaaange thing happened with my 2200g female yesterday
So, my step sister was handling my 2200g female yesterday, when all of a sudden we saw droplets of bright red blood on her stomach. I immediately took her and gave her a quick examination, and not finding any cuts on her at all, I went to put her back in her tub when 6-7 BIG drops of blood just start flowing from her mouth. So, Instead of panicking, I grabbed a tub lid, called my snake vet and told him that I was on my way with her, and went to get her examined. 3 hours later, we couldn't find anything wrong with her at all. She ate a live medium rat last saturday ( I always supervise my feedings and she was not bitten), temps are 88-90 warm side, 75-77 cool side and is hooked up to a helix thermostat, temps measured with an accurite thermometer. Humidity is almost constantly at 60%. Bedding is bottom layer newspaper, with aspen shavings on top of that, and the only other furniture is a ceramic (sealed) water bowl. She's in a rack system with my other 3 ball pythons.
Has anyone else ever heard of this happening? It's been over 24 hours since the incidence happened, and she's still bright, alert, and active. Perfectly normal if not still a bit pissy from the vet poking and prodding her yesterday.
