Hi,
Cleo laid her clutch earlier this afternoon.![]()

I had just pulled an all nighter and checked before heading to bed - I had to close the tub and re-open it just to make sure.
I completely forgot to take pictures of her wrapped around them though.
She was only a little feisty when I took her off but there were a couple of attempted strikes - luckily I strike feed from my fingers most of the time so have had previous dodge training.
What was even scarier is my earlier experiments in palpataion were bang on the money of six eggs and one slug.![]()
She was the most co-operative of all my girls when trying it so I could feel the BUMP...BUMP....BUMP....bump....BUMP.
Cant feel a blessed thing in my big girl as she just tenses up and can't decide on the final count in the little girl yet.
I managed to seperate the eggs fairly easily and the new mini-maglite showed a lovely pink colour and healthy veins in the six good eggs.
Incidently I had been using an LED torch before getting this and it definately made the eggs look yellower during candling - I assume it has a bluer cast or something.
I did manage to remember to grab a quick snap while cleaning the cage/ setting the eggs up;
Wierdly I seem to remember Natasha's being physically larger but weighing less.
I'm planning on incubating at 88f to give myself a little safety margin - does that change the averadge time before they pip much?
The poor girl looks so deflated.
I washed out the tub, water bowl, changed the substrate and then washed Cleo herself and put her back in.
Her hides are being cleaned at the moment so she is a little active - I left a rat in with her but she didn't seem intrested earlier.
Have I missed anything?
And I would like to thank Robin for answering so quickly and keeping me from running around like a headless chicken.
**edit**
Should have rotated the pic.
