Dakota, my gold-laced Cochin went extremely broody on me, so I let her set some of my Silkie bantam eggs - look what hatched!! Two little black Silkies!
Here's she is being a good surrogate mom...
Eggs from some of my standard girls, including a nice double-yolker from one of my Turkens:
Some of the "mostly growns" - these girls should start laying in July or August...
"Powder" - a Speckled Sussex
"Wendy," the Salmon Faverolle, and a yet-unnamed silver laced Wyandotte
One of the Australorps, both silver laced Wyandottes, and a Barnevelder (the brown one, back right). Still in the naming process on some of these girls. You can also kind of see "Marzipan" hiding in the trees (back left), she's a lightXdark Brahma cross.
And because I'm also a sucker for ornamental birds...
"Puck" - a gold-laced Sebright bantam. These are tiny, males are 26 oz at maturity.
One of 2 gold-laced Polish that I recently acquired...they are SO goofy!
