Remember this thread back in January?

Well, after 116 days, they decided to make their entrance into the world.

I woke up this morning and peeked into the deli cup and saw a dark shape and gasped out loud - but alas - it didn't move, didn't budge, and I was convinced that it was dead and had suffocated in the deli cup where it had hatched overnight.

I was heart sick and trying to figure out how I'd tell Emily that I had killed one of her babies. But wait - what's this? There's movement!!! "KARLLLLLLLLL!!!! I need a water bottle STAT!!!!" (now mind you - this is at 4:30 this morning).

I get the little kid set up in the enclosure and spritz it down and am relieved to see it moving.

Talking to Emily later she tells me that they are often exhausted after hatching and it was likely sleeping when I picked it up and that they can be just fine for up to 12 hours in the sealed deli cup. Whew!

So, I get home and here's a photo shoot of IttyBittyOne!

I'm out of here crazy woman! Photo shoot is OVER!

So I sit down to upload these pictures and peek in the deli cup again and what do I see??? (and this was just an egg, no pipping when I started the photo shoot with the first one)

IttyBittyTwo

About this time I tell Judy I have one hatching and she asks if I could take video and I tell her - boring - it hasn't moved in 30 minutes - turn back and it FLEW out of the egg!

Karl reminds me that just last night I was peeking in the deli cup and said "are you guys EVER going to hatch?"
