home depot?
Has anyone ever had trouble at home depot before?
A few weeks ago I went to have some wood cut for a 12q rack. The man did NOT want to do it. He made one cut and walked away. And never came back, just said as he was walking away not looking back "I will send someone else to cut this". We were standing there for close to an hour, before I finally hit the help button. I know home depot is busy and I didn't want to bug them but I figured we waited long enough. All the while we were waiting the first man kept walking by ignoring us. Another man finally showed up that was willing to help us. The man was very nice and made GREAT cuts. So ok no biggie..
I went yesterday to have more melamine cut for an adult rack im about to build. The guy who made 1 cut last time was the same guy we ran into first, so I told him I needed 4 sheets and many cuts. He was SOOO rude, it wasnt just what he said it was totally how he said it. He said corporate told them they aren't allowed to cut wood anymore because some of the workers are spending too much time with customers and lumber. Then he stormed off.
We went to the service desk and asked if it was true, "I said I already bought everything I need for the project Im going to build and now (guys name) in lumber said he's not allowed to cut the wood for us?" the service counter dude had no idea if indeed the policy had changed but he would find someone willing to cut the wood for us.
We waited about 30 minutes for someone to show up as that one guy from lumber again walked by us MANY times ignoring us, only stopping once to tell us, they are changing their policy about cutting wood. He originally said they wont cut any wood anymore to saying they are only allowed to make 2 cuts. By this time, I'm annoyed with this man so I said well I want it cut, I pointed to the sign above the saw stating 2 cuts are free, the rest is 25 cents and how it says nothing about a new policy. He said "We will do it today but that sigh will be taken down on Monday and a new sign will be in its place!!!!" and once again stormed off.
Then, I spotted the other man who made the cuts for the first rack. He wasn't working, just shopping. I asked him when he was working next, he said tomorrow and that he will cut it for us. I said even though the other man said they cant cut wood anymore? He said yes he will just start cutting and then if they said anything to him, he said he'd say "Well i cant stop now, i already started cutting." So we left.
Went back today, got the wood cut. Yay!
So to get to my point, I was just wondering if anyone has had a problem with home depot and cutting wood. Is this in fact a new policy?
And if in fact this is true, I guess I wont be building anymore racks myself as my cuts always come out crooked. lol
