Well I wouldn't say either is right. Genetics play a role in everything of course. I plan my feedings around the info I find on here, bloodpythons.net, and other forums. I just get an average.

For the most part the adults get fed a large or jumbo rat once every 10-14 days.

Year old bloods should be close to if not already eating medium rats.

And up until they're a year old you can feed em enough each week to leave a noticeable lump every 7 days. Then back off at the year old mark.
Kara from NERD said her breeder females in the 12 to 15 pound range eat large medium to small large rats.

I just bumped my guy up to his medium to medium large medium rats if that makes sense. He'll stay on that for a few months. Then he'll get a large or jumbo every 2 weeks.

When I got him from Allison he was almost a year old I think and he was already like 1500 grams if not more. Just for perspective.

And right now stretched out he's about as big around as a coke can and 4 feet long.

There's a 4 foot female blood on kingsnake that's 12 pounds. And that thing just looks crazy obese.

Just a lot of random info I know. I'm sorry.
