I just returned from the vet visit with Hadiya. And as annoying as it is, the vet found three more ticks. Grr, but atleast she got to see my frustration. She complimented me on my husbandry after I explained the tub set up, and I told her i had you all to thank for that.

So what did she find? Other than more ticks, she tried to get a poop sample but hadiya doesn't have any poop, she did get urine and just enough solid to find a parasite. She was also worried that with the sheer volume of ticks I've pulled of her that she may be enimic. (forgive any spelling errors) So hadiya got two shots, Ivermectin and b12. as well as getting some meds tubed into her tummy. The meds start with an M and is for ticks. i don't think hadiya knew what hit her, the vet took her in the back for less than 3 minutes to tube her and give her the shots. i didn't even have enough time to worry about the stress it could cause her before they brought her back to me. I will have to bring her back in two weeks for a second shot, but the vet said to try and feed her next week just to see. She said as long as the parasites are gone in two weeks, she isn't worried about the feeding. her exact words were 'She's a ball python, she's going to eat when she feels like it'

On to the good news, Hadiya is 3.2 lbs.. 1600 ish grams I think? and while waiting for the vet to finish the paperwork for my billing, i got a chance to handle her for more than a minute. She's so gentle, curling around my arm happily as we sat there. her tongue going like crazy at all the scents from the other animals. she is extremely head shy, even something coming close to her face makes her pull away sharply. I know I won't be able to handle her near as much till i've got her eating and happy but just holding her for that short period of time thrilled me to no end, and I know she's going to be a great snake to have around.

My worry about the cost was thankfully for not, less than 100 for the whole trip, and another 20 for the trip in 2 weeks. I think i would have spent twice as much after getting to hold her. She's so beautiful. I know I've had her for a few months, but before she had her eggs I was letting her be so she wouldn't stress. And after them, she had the ticks and i was worried about getting them on me or the other animals. Now i have to restain myself and remind myself that while I want to hold her, she doesn't need me to.
