It seems like I've been waiting ages for weather to clear, but my male black milk snake is finally here! He came from Kara at Nerd who was very helpful (I can't say thanks enough, Kara) and he's absolutely amazing.
Right from the get-go there was no fear, no aggression, no nothing. Just slithered on out of his tub like he already owned the place. I got all of two seconds to hold him and then he found a comfy hiding spot.
I didn't bother him too much with pictures. These are the few that I was able to get.
I dare anyone to look at the last picture and tell me that "cute" is not an adjective used to describe snakes.
Funny side story: He was shipped to my dad's house instead of my apartment and I asked my dad to open up the box when it arrived and remove the heat pack so he wouldn't fry and just make sure he was ok. My dad's like, "yeah, sure, no problem." He opens the box and yelps, then says, "I can't open that!" When I asked him why he explained that the box was full of loose newspaper and he didn't want the snake to escape. No amount of coaxing could convince him that the snake was inside a clear container inside the box. He drove an hour and a half to bring the animal to me so that I could take care of it.I love my dad.
