    tub & hide question

I've decided to build my own hatcling rack. i would like to use the 12qt tubs that way the snakes could be in it a little longer until I have to make another the next size up. would they be ok for hatchings as long as they have hides on each side?

Also, what do you use for hatchling hides? I saw some really small water pot saucers today in walmart, they were about 4" in diameter and about 1 inch deep. Is that too small? I've never seen a hatchling personally just in pics but its still hard to visualize the size hide they would need.

What would you suggest for a nice snug hide? What about those coconut shells that are cut in 1/2?

    thanks!
