Hey everyone
Next Tuesday I'm getting a Irian Jaya Carpet python, it's only a hatchling, and I decided to name it Sydney. I'm going to house it in a 12" * 12" * 12" Exo-Terra for the first 8 months or so, then I'll upgrade to the final tank. This is what's going to be in his/her vivarium:
- Exo-Terra jungle vines (these will obviously act as branches and will run around the entire tank)
- Three artificial plants
- Two hides (one half cocunut, one Exo-Terra cave
- Water dish
The vivarium will be heated by a heat mat that will be regulated by a HabiStat temperature thermostat (warm side 87F and cool side around 75/76F). Sydney is going to be on aspen, and I will feed outside of the tank in a seperate tub. Humidity is around 50% on average. I'm going to pick up all of this stuff from the mail office on Monday, so I'll have it set up and ready for when Sydney comes home. I'll be sure to give him/her at least 3 days to settle in.
Does this all sound okay? Oh and I'll be sure to post pictures, I've handled Sydney before (when I made my decision to buy him, but obviously I needed time to sort the viv out etc.), and he/she was a cutie.
All the best
David
