This is my little '07 pastel guy, Riff Raff.
He's my first and (so far) only ball and a real sweetheart; not nippy at all, great feeding response. I picked him up three weeks ago, and today he shed for me for the first time.
A couple of nights ago, just clearing up from blue...
Around noon today I went to check on him... caught in the act!
As you probably can see he's had a bit of a shed mishap - there are what looks like missing scales in a patchy line along his back. He also had a rather large patch of skin flapping around on his head as well as some around his vent, but most of it came off in one piece.
A couple hours later I put him in a damp pillowcase for an hour, but the head patch refused to come off. Finally I took him out and checked up close, and it looks like there are more missing scales underneath. It's really stuck on there, so I'm just going to leave it.

Humidity is fine, there's nothing sharp in his tub. I'm not really certain why this happened, but I'm guessing that it stems from previous shedding/skin issues. When I took him home he had a large patch of dry scales on his head and some dull, rough scales along his back, which I notched up to retained shed. You can kind of see it on the first pic.
Being poked and prodded didn't phase him that much though, he downed a F/T mouse without hesitation this evening... MUNCH!
Hopefully he'll look a bit better after his next shed!
