Hey everyone!

Today I got my first het, a caramel albino male. And it was a lucky find!

I live in a small town, and our craigslist is for the college town about 30 miles away (College Station, lol), so I usually poke through it once a week.

Well, someone posted a het caramel albino for sale, and I was astonished! I've tried finding like minded herpers in the area, and failed, so I was excited.

I contacted the lady, and she was very nice, and we worked out a deal.

First, I did contact the breeder (Adam from 8ball pythons! She dropped his name first.) first, and he confirmed he sold the snake to her, and confirmed the picture as well.

So I picked him up today, along with his genetic paperwork, a 20g long, two uvb hoods, two lamps, a ceramic emitter, a heating pad, a log hide, and a bowl. And all in all, I paid about half what a het caramel is worth! Quite a deal!

I actually had planned on trading him, or selling him, because I want a pastel, but after a long talk with Sammy Greg aka shrap, he convinced me to keep him, and put him to my females, and breed back any female offspring.

I decided that would be an adventure, so he stays! I'm only interested in the enjoyment and fun in breeding, and to try this sounds very exciting, and imagine the satisfaction if luck is with me and I succeed! That's all that matters to me.

He's in quarantine in the rodent room. I put him in there because every time I leave, I scrub my hands. Can't stand the smell of rodents on my hands. So it made sense!

I will say he is extremely small for his DOB: July 2004, he is smaller than my female from year before last! He will definitely need a lot of TLC before he's ready for anything. I'll certainly make sure he gets it.

No pictures just yet, as he was very stressed and just wanted to hide, but don't worry, I'll post some next week.

Thanks for listening to my excitement! Does any experienced het breeder have any advice?
