For any of you that have been worried about the new USFW proposal I have a suggestion. We need to ban together to find out as much iinformation as we can about how this bill will affect business's, breeders, pet stores, pet store suppliers, cage companies, rat and mice breeders, substrate companies anyone that will be affected by this bill. I have put together a request that you can feel free to use when contacting these companies and we can use this site and this thread as a source for all information we have found. This is a tremendous task but if we work together we can all gather a lot of information to put in our letters that we send!

My name is Cady Riechmann and I am writing in response to the bill proposed by the USFW restricting all interstate sales and trade of Boa's, Python's and Eunectus. If put into place this bill will have a profound and severe effect on all companies that service or supply to snake owners and breeders. If this proposal passes many companies, and breeders will be put out of business.
I am asking companies like yours to help us take action by writing letters and responding to this proposal:

I am also asking companies like yours to help breeders and hobbyist write their letters by supplying information on the impact this bill will have on your company. Information about gross sales concerning reptiles would be extremely helpful, also information about how many employee's you have or anything that will be effected by this bill will be helpful.
I am specifically looking for companies to provide information about their gross sales for snake related products and the number of employee's that work for your company. Thank you very much for your time and I hope we can work together to protect our rights as a company, breeder, hobbyist or reptile lover.

Calling these companies is also useful we need to find out how much money these companies make off snakes, how this bill will effect the company and its employee's. This bill will have a domino effect, we need to find out what would happen if say ZOOMED went out of bussiness, how many people would be without a job, how would it effect the economy? Also we need to find out any restriction each state has against these snakes, post any and all information you can get here! Any kind of proof that a certain species could'nt thrive in your state would be helpful, but we need facts from respected sources, not just opinions, so use your resources, go talk to your zoo's and wildlife areas! Answers to these questions are extremely important:

populations, or similar species, if

implementing propagation, recovery,
and restoration programs for native
species that are affected by Python, Boa
or Eunectes species, or similar snake

(9) What State-listed species would be
impacted by the introduction of Python,
Boa or Eunectes species?
(10) What species have been
impacted, and how, by Python, Boa or
Eunectes species?

Please dont use this thread to discuss why you think this bill should pass, or debate, we should use this as an oppourtunity to ban together to protect our love for the animal and our right to make a living off of doing what we love.
