If you've heard it once you've heard it a thousand times.....KEEP and eye on your snakes....

this handsome gentleman is a recent rescue....
the person we got him from was the actual rescuer and housed him for over a year.....

previous owners kept temps at over 100 degrees and 2 (yes 2) heat rocks in his cage....they stated that he scratched himself trying to escape...two others were in the same cage, they didn't make it...

I have to say this guy is a MONSTER, making my breeding fems look like teens...he's a COMPLETE sweetheart, very friendly...

I'd like this to be a reminder to new keepers (and remind the old) to take extra special care in keeping a snake....to imagine the pain this guy went through *sighs*...when it could have been avoided with a little education...

Scar will, I'm sure, continue to be forgiving and enjoy our company....i am constantly reminded how beautiful snakes are by his demeanor, his gentleness and of course his lesson
