I'm excited to have a first clutch, then god willing lots more after that. It's a long time in coming, things keep coming up and getting crazy, but I'm going to be cracking down soon. My biggest concern?

Exploding from cuteness.

Seriously, I may need to find myself a good heart specialist and put him on speed-dial. As is, I have 5 snakes, 1 lizard, and 4 bunnies (we're working on bonding a 4th one). I look around and the levels of cute are toxic. I could seriously explode with love. And these are all more or less adults in a fairly small collection.

I have seen baby snakes. I have cuddled them. And they are deadly adorable. Who needs venom when you have such big sweet vacant eyes and itty bitty ickle flicky tongues? A person could spontaneously combust. In fact, I'm sure that overdoses of high levels of cute is probably exactly what causes spontaneous combustion. I know, because I've come close. Reptile shows are dangerous places.

I take the nearly lethal levels of cute I live with now fairly well most of the time. But multiply this by several clutches of baby snakes at any given time as I hope to have in the future?

Be afraid. Be very afraid.

I don't know how you big time breeders do it. Are there precautions that you take? What do you do to protect yourself from adorability overdose meltdowns?
