Lesson Learned
I started a thread about a month ago, maybe two months ago about my ball with mites. Well thankfully, with everyone's help, he is completely mite free, and I'm really glad I found this place. When hearing about everyone's '07s and how big they are, I started to realize that he was remaining really undersized. I had taken the pet shop's advice and fed him pinkies and eventually fuzzies. I got here and learned that I was still feeding him too small of prey. I bumped him up to adult mice as soon as I ran out of fuzzies (and had been giving him 2 fuzzies a week) and he's packing on a little size, he gained approximately 50 grams since then. Anyhow, I got a fecal sample this weekend and got it to the vet as soon as I could, well turns out I've been feeding parasites for the past 6 months, that's why he's so damn small.
Lesson learned, I have an appointment to take him/her for a check-up, get treatment, hopefully get sexed, and whatever else on Monday morning. I can report though, that after some difficulties, my set-up is now excellent, with temps in the range and FINALLY with a complex humidity set-up (which is actually really neat-o) humidity is right on as well. Now as soon as we're all better from the parasites, I should be golden.
Oh, and I'm never buying from a pet store again, obviously.
