So, long story short, we have a 3 year female Jeweled Lacerta falling in our laps over here! We're excited, we've never had a lizard before and Karen is crazy about them. She'll be going in Neptune's old enclosure (The lizard, not Karen), and I'll be running around getting things all set up. Her previous owner is clearing up some space and knows that we'll spoil the girl rotten, so we're getting a good deal. We should be ready to take her home this coming Sat.

Ordered Sun Lamp Bulb: Check
Cage: Check
Substrate: Check
Water bowls: Kinda check (need to dig through storage for something a little bigger)
Faux Plants: Kinda check (We have one spare, may need another)
Food: Soon!
Lamp Hood: Erranding today
Basking/hiding spots: Erranding today

Usually Karen and I are pretty good about agreeing on names ahead of time (we're weird like that) but we're debating. I'd love to give her an Italian name since Lacertas hail from the same part of Italy that my Mom's family hails from and Karen wants something short and cutsie. We have a whole list of possibilities and we'll see what fits her best when we have her in hand.

In addition, we'd already been planning to go to the rabbit rescue on Sunday so we might be bringing home two new critters this weekend! We'd even rearranged the whole place to turn the NIC cage into an open free range house rabbit pen.

...

Yeah, we're nuts, but it still feels right.
