so i have a few pairs of uroplatus species and my uroplatus phantasticus female laid eggs for me and im hoping that i didnt kill them.
so i found one egg in the substrate stuck to aspen shavings and i picked up the shaving with the attatched egg and placed it into an incubator. the egg must have been layed anywhere from 1 am last night to 7 pm today. the aspen that it was on was a little wet when i found it. could this have hurt the egg at all?? did i find the egg too late??
20 mins after i put the first egg in the incubator i looked in the enclosure to see a freshly laid second egg stuck to the bio vine. i didnt want to touch it an have it get stuck to my finger so i used two aspen shavings to scoop it up. it kinda rolled from side to side a couple times but not completely over and i placed it next to the second egg in the incubator. could the rolling have hurt the egg at all?
i would have picked it up with my hands but these eggs are literally the size of peas and very squishy and stickey. did i do much damage to them when i picked them up?? the first one didnt roll at all but the second one did a little and it was fresh out of the mom.
what do you guys think??
