My wife and I went to the Columbia reptile show a couple of weekends ago (where I met the wonderful Emily who I plan on buying a crestie from when I am ready to add one to my collection because all of her animals looked top notch!) and we picked up some feeders. I got home, feed off the mice and pinkies then got to the 3 weanling rats. I fed one, and then noticed something odd about one, after looking closely I noticed, this wasn't just any rat, but a dumbo! I have bred rats before but when Ashley got pregnant I got paranoid about having them in the house (due to the sickness they can care that can cause birth defects in babies) so we feed off all that we could and adopted the rest out as pets. With our due date just a couple of weeks away we decided we'd start breeding again soon after Riley's birth and we decided that since we were going to start anyway, we'd keep the dumbo. That being said, I got ready to feed off the next feeder and put him in with one of my females. She struck and for some reason let go. The rat, obviously spooked and the female apparently not being interested (turns out the next day I checked on her and she was in blue, so maybe that's why?) I took the rat out and put him in a cage with the dumbo. Either way, looks like we've got two males rats now. Here are their pictures.
