I don't know if any of you remember our wild caught girl, just wanted to give a quick update and some questions.
She started eating for us a few months after we brought her home. She is just pounding these rats! We give her a weanling (maybe 2) every Saturday, but all week she is on the hunt. We threw her a 3 week old middle of last week just as a test and she didn't even let it hit the floor, took it in midair. She has become our best feeder now, putting weight on at a good rate, I believe she is 1486 as of 2 weeks ago empty. (When she started eating for us she was 1380's I believe)
Here's the question, can her willingness to eat anytime stem from the fact she is wild caught and will take food because of the opportunity? I'm pretty sure that's why she never hesitates to eat now, but dang, every time we check on her she comes right out expecting a rat to come her way! She is seriously acting like she hasn't eaten in years. Just always waiting for that rat.
Anyone else experience anything remotely close or have any thoughts on her recent behavior? Will it slow down as we get into the winter months? Any comments are greatly appreciated!
