And yeah...the whole $800 puggle thing gave me the giggles. Now they're turning up on Craigslist, 2 or 3 years old, for free. Guess they didn't live up to their expected perfection...
When I was looking for a Dog, I got to talking with a professional dog breeder who was telling me that a lot of these designers are dogs that are just put together to see what would happen without any thought for the consequences. For instance, you cross a breed noted for having breathing problems (a Pug) with a breed noted for it's high energy (a poodle) and you're just bound to have health problems with your puggles. But the breeders just don't think that far ahead and want to create cute new dogs with an interesting look and make a name for themselves (and a few bucks while they're at it)
