Last night I pulled Zeus (my 3.5 foot BP of 4 years) out of his cage for a little handling. I knew he was within a day or two of shedding. So, I wasn't going to handle him that long. I layed him on my lap, and a few minutes into him being there he began to rub his nose against my jeans (kind of like a cat would). He did that several times, and I could not figure out what he was doing, cause I could not see his head. Well, when he brought his head back into view I could see that he was trying to start his shedding process started right there in my lap. His skin had started to peel back right in front of me. So, I let him do what he does best, and about 45 mins to an hour later I had all of his shed skin laying in my lap and a brightly colored fresh snake looking at me (as if he was saying I am hungry, lol). I must say that is something I will never forget, and just goes to show how comfortable he is with being around me.
