What to do?
Okay. So i've got a question...
My RTB is i'd say still just a baby...although i don't know how old he was when i got him, he was small, yet the biggest out of the group. The guy said to feed him 2 small f/t fuzzies a week.
So i've been doing that, and at first...he usually seemed content, and full with it, and it was going well. But last week i went to find him in the cage, and eventually he popped out and it was feeding time, however when i went to hold him before he ate ( which i've done before, and also the prey was not in the same room, nore close ) he tagged me on the finger, didn't sink the teeth in, just kind of " get lost, don't touch me " kind of tag. So whatever, I take the tongs, but in the prey ( small fuzzy ) and at first he's more concentrated on my hand then the prey, eventually however he gets it, and enjoys his meal.
Now over the last week, MAYBE week and a half. I had thought he was going into shedding, trying to do his deed, whatever... He was really dark and i figured he was going to get ready to shed, next few couple of days his eyes were blue...but no shedding occured? and his eyes are back to normal now. He's also been a little more active then he was before, and stays in the same 2 spots, and moves from spot to spot rather often, and it's only like....10 inches away from each spot? My humidity was 55, which isn't the greatest, but i still had my BP shed great with that kind of humidity, nothing of the sort happened with my RTB.
So i fed him last night, and he took the prey down EXTREMELY fast. then still seemed hungry, so i tried feeding him another fuzzy tonight because he was so active, and just looked hungry. It was a no go, he kept following my hand and not the prey.
Now i have a book on red tail boas, and it has a picture of a dehydrated snake. Mine when i got him, has this piece on his neck that i thought was just skin left over from a shed when i got him, but it still hasn't gone away, and looks more like a dehydrated part of a snake. However it's a very small part of him.
So i'll get to the point, and just ask the questions already because i'm sure this isn't making sense the way i'm throwing it out there.
1. He's about 14 -17 inches long, he's gotten longer, and a LITTLE thicker than he was when i got him. Should i continue to be feeding him just these tiny little fuzzies twice a week? or can i move up? He looks like he could take something bigger, i just don't know what?
2. Activity, signs of shedding ( but not ), and a little aggressive. What should i do? My temps are correct, my humidity is usually about 50 - 55, i have 2 water bowls in there, one very large one, and a small corner one to keep my humidity up. I know these can be signs of unproper housing, but everything is correct give or take a little bit on the humidity?
Do you think i should take him to my vet? see what's going on with him? Do you guys have any suggestions or ideas on what may be going on?
3. He has never pooped since i've had him, which is about a month and a half. maybe more maybe less. When i first got my BP he didn't for a month, so i haven't been TOO concerned, but now with all of this happening, i'm thinking maybe this could be a problem?
I guess that's all i got, and i'm just lost right now. He is my baby, and he's been so great and gentle since i've gotten him, and i hate seeing him like this all angry and just not coming off the same to me as he had been?
Anything at all would be greatly appreciated!
