At least, it was odd to me. I just got done feeding Nagini and it took FOREVER for her to nail that hopper! Must have been about 10-15 minutes (tho it felt like more to my aching wrist and thumb from holding the tongs shut). I dangled the mouse in as always and she stuck her head out of her hide and just...sniffed it for lack of a better term. Then she withdrew back into her hide. I took the mouse out a few minutes, then offered it again; same behavior but this time she watched longer. Finally on the third try she watched a while then nabbed it fast and furious as usual.
The only different thing about tonight's meal was the size - it was a bit smaller than normal and male instead of female (they were rather low on hoppers today). Would that have confused her at all or is there something else here? Since she took it, and downed it in record time, I'm not overly worried...I just want to avoid another session like that, my hand can't take it
Oh, BTW, I just got my order from Rich (those ultratherm pads are cool...like really big flexwatt) including my new Johnson. Now...HOW do I set it up???? That instruction manual is like Chinese! Also, I hope it is wired for heating and not cooling... can anyone reassure me here?
