Bought two hopper mice and an adult mouse for my snakes today. Temp outside is 93.4 degree, got the mice, went and got gas, and then drove home, about 20 miles. The way home all the windows were down and there was plenty of air in the car. When I got home all the mice looked like they were in a damn steam room. The big adult mouse didnt look two good and wasnt moving but still breathing, the hopper mice were fine, just wet. So I put Jade in with the hoppers and she ate both just fine. I took Max out and put him with the adult mouse who just layed there. Max got close enough to it that his tongue was hitting it but it wouldn't move, so I pushed it around with a pen, nothing. So I put max back in his cage and was just gonna keep the mouse for later, gave it some water, and put it in the container it came in. Few min later I hear a bunch of noise come from the container so I took a look and the darn thing was dead.... So there went $1.25, have no mouse for Max later, and I had to toss it out. Anyone else have a mouse die due to heat? I'm guessing thats what it was although I didn't think it was near hot enough for that to happen. First time Max has refused food, he is in shed, but he ate last time he was in shed so I didnt think anything of it. Might have been the shed, might have been cause the mouse was dieing.....any guesses?
