well, i rehomed/sold all my tarantulas except 3 in the last week or so. my 8 year old daughter came to me and admited that she's just not comfy with them in the house (got them all over a year ago). she didn't want to tell me cause she said, "you cried so hard when one died, i didn't want to take your pet away from you".

i'm sooooooo proud of her for telling me. i immediately (seriously within about 5 minutes of our conversation) contacted all my T friends and all of them (yes even my p. mettalica) are gone. my daughter asked me to keep skittles and my other 'favourite'... in the end, we agreed to keep our top three (as she adores maxi as well); Skittles our GBB, B!tch our OBT, and Maxi our n. chromatus.

i'm sad to rehome/sell the others but i'm very pleased they went to homes where i can get updates on them. i know they don't have 'feelings' or 'connect' to their owners but i really really these guys... but i love my daughter more. i would never want her to grow up thinking... "i told mom i didn't feel comfy with them in the house and she chose them over me" - that would be tragic.
