I finally got a new rack set up. I love the way it came out and I thought I'd share it with you all and maybe give others ideas for how to build one of their own. I took pictures all along to show you how I built it too. I am using 28qt tubs and this rack holds 9. The tubs are about 20"x16"x6".
Here's how I started. This is the base, all it is is 4 pieces of wood and a sheet of plywood. (top and bottom)
Here I connected the sides. Each side is 5 feet.

Now, I put on each level by placing the tub down and screwing in each bracket (slider) where it would fit with the tub. I then put the plywood on top of the tub and screwed that in, making sure it wasn't too tight to slide and made sure there wasnt enough space for a snake to get out.
I did that for each level and put the tub on the plywood top of the last one until I got to the top. At the last tub there was a little extra space but it worked out fine because all I did was make the tub higher than the last top.
And that's what it looks like finished. Here's another picture.
Now all I have to do is wait until I get my flexwatt in before I fill them up with snakes, and I also have to get more tubs, right now I only have three and I have some smaller ones on top which I'm going to be using for hatchlings. I plan on attaching the flexwatt to each tub instead of attaching it to the rack. I will post more pics showing you how I did that.![]()
