Hey all you snake nuts....!!!


I finally got my new Rubber boa from Glades Herp! This is a for sure peculiar snake and a fine addition to my collection. Oingo Boingo is a male, about a foot long and indeed is quite rubbery and strange. When he is scared he rolls into a ball and waves his head-like tail about in circular motions - very fascinating.

I have him in an enclosure that mimics a mulchy patch of earth with moss and a hide to simulate the Pacific Northwestern biotope that he hails from. I am keeping it nice and cool ( about 70 degrees ) and slightly humid for the little fellow.

He has already fed on three pinkies - it was intriguing to see how he went about feeding, I put the pinkies in a simulated mouse nest in the middle of his enclosure and he burrowed into the substrate and vanished for about ten minutes and then all of a sudden he ambushed the pinkies and ate all three of them rapidly. A true nest-robber.....

When I get my digicam up and running ( I just bought it ) I will be posting pics of him....
