So i'm new to owning a ball python, and have had mine now for probably 2 to 3 months. He was very young when i got him, and probably only a month or two old.

Some concerns i've had lately are when do they usually start shedding? I know what to look for but have seen no symptons as of yet.

But my MAIN concern is, tonight as i was going to clean the cage, he started striking at me, now i know these are usually a pretty clam species of snake, and mine has been great to me since i've had it so far. But last week after it had gotten done eating, i misted the cage and right away it started striking at me. I figured it was sensitive and didn't want to be bothered, then the incident happened tonight. THIS HAS ME CONCERNED? Could this be because he is starting to shed, or could something else be wrong?

Any information would be great, and i'm sorry if these are on other posts, i tried to look around but felt it'd be better as i'm new to this, to hear it from people when they know the situation.

THANKS AND GOOD TO BE HERE!
