hello all, this is an update about a post i did about a week and a half ago. it was about eye dents on my ball python, i gave it a moist hide for a night and a day and IT WORKED
(advice from mousche). i also changed it's home from a 75 gl glass aqauarium to a 20 gl long.
i used advice from a sticky about setting up glass cages and covered the screen top of my 20 gl allowing room for my OVERHEAD heat light and some space for ventilation.

i added indoor/outdoor carpeting which works very well for me with clean-up, plus it looks much more aesthetic than news paper and helps with sheds
.my bp has 2 hides and a fake log which he loves to hang out on(he is a very sociable bp). i got an intank type heating pad which heats the objects in the hot side of the tank much like the sun heats rocks and trees. it DOES NOT create hot spots, it distributes the heat evenly and is more warm than hot.to control the temps i use a thermostat and a digital thermometer, of course, now temps are about 90 degree with about a 2 degree difference hotter or cooler but they stay at 89/90 degrees, night time temps drop to about 80 - 83 degrees, the cool side seems to stay at 80 degrees. and to control the humidity i am using a humidifier/air exchanger for tropical reptiles, , how it works is it releases fresh moist air into the tank, there are no drafts no moisture build up no consistent dampness that may cause problems. the humidity stays at 52% to 55%. it reduces the amount of misting (i still do at various times) he has a large enough water dish blah blah............but all is fine and thanks for the advice and help
