What we plan to do, is build some shelving, and use those tanks with the sliding lids for snake cages. I toyed with the idea of a rubbermaid rack, but I have this issue with having the heatpads touching plastic; see, we leave home often for hours at a time and sometimes overnight with the business (have a security system and cameras, but that's not the issue) but I am terrified of some plastic melting and starting a fire, and I cannot be convinced that this wouldn't happen, so I want cages with glass bottoms for my personal peace of mind. Also I have been using tanks for my BPs for over 3 years and have things down to a science in regards to humidity, shedding and all that stuff.
So we plan on using a bunch of nice pine lumber that our landlord had milled and no longer needs; I want the tanks to be uniform and nicely "stacked" maybe 3 above/below each other for a total of 6 spaces (only have 5 BPs, but it'd be a good excuse to get another one later! My BCI, I plan on keeping in his custom cage w/ the sliding doors, in a seperate room; too scared about IBD risks. I was also thinking of having one long tank at the bottom to use for breeding purposes..
so how does this all sound? I plan on using the 40-long tanks that are the same footprint as a 55g; already have my female in there and it is plenty space.
